Here at approximately 3:45 UT, July 18 at the Table Mountain Observatory in
Wrightwood, CA, Jim Young noticed two faint spots with naked eye unfiltered
observations on a 10 inch telescope.
I investigated these findings on using an unfiltered Sony SSC-M350 video camera on the 24 inch telescope. At approximately 4:06 UT, I confirmed these two dark spots. I took 160 frames of these spots from 4:15 UT until they disappeared around the limb at approximately 4:56 UT. Shortly thereafter, we were clouded out.
We believe these spots to be the remnants of the impact sites from fragments A and E.
