J. Berthier (BDL Paris); F. Colas (BDL Paris); F. Deladerriere (OMP Pic du Midi P. Laques (OMP Pic du Midi); J. Lecacheux (DESPA Meudon); S. Pau (DESPA Meudon) D. Rouan (DESPA Meudon); A. Sanchez-Lavega (UPV Bilbao); D. Tiphene (Despa Meudon).

Instrumentation: -CCD from 400 to 1000 nm (B, V, R, I, 890nm, 514nm,...)
                 -Near Infrared Camera (1 to 2.5 microns in H, H, short K
                   from 2.0 to 2.32 micron)

20 July from 17 to 23 hr
=========================

We have tracked from 400nm to 2.3 microns the spotr. Visual aspect:

H (strong), E (+F?), A (expanding), C, K (large elongated nucleus surronded southwards by a halo) L (dark oval nucleus with a shadow in its South East flank), G (dark nucleus and shadow as L) and Q1 (+N?). As seen from the size and morphology of the spots, impacts L and G were the most energetics, a fact confirmed by our detection of the impact flash L described yesterday. The albedo of all spots were:

in the continuum from 400 nm to 1 micron: very low
low albedo under the 619 asnd 725 nm methane bands. Higher reflectivity in the 890 nm CH4 band and in teh 2.16 micron K band.

No signature of impact P2 in the K band.

A very short tiny flash was observed in the K band at 19hr44min presumably due to Q2.

A double flash was observed in the K band at 20hr13min and 20hr 19 min (UTC) due to impact Q1, the second one being the most proeminent, similar in magnitude to event H from July 18. The first flash was also detected visually with telescopes of 20-30 cm.
