MKO Planetary Patrol observations of G and H impact sites

Observations of Jupiter on 1994 July 19 UT from the University of Hawaii 0.6-m Planetary Patrol Telescope on Mauna Kea:

We observed Jupiter from 0615 through 0915 UT in seven filters: B, V, R, 6184 A, 6563 A, 8930 A, and 9482 A. The site of impact G was plainly visible at the beginning of the night as a dark spot in all filters except 8930, where it could not be detected visually. It was most clearly visible in the B and V filters. In our low-resolution images the impact site appears to be similar in size to the GRS. We tracked the site until it faded into the limb at around 0800 UT.

At around 0800 UT, we noticed a second dark spot which appears to be associated with impact H. This dark spot is smaller than G, and appears best in B and V.

Near the end of the evening's observations, we observed what appeared to be a third dark spot at the same latitude as those associated with G and H. The timing of this spot is coincidental with impact C, but given the low resolution of our observations and the high airmass at the time of the observations, we cannot state that this site is unambiguously related to impact C.
