In reference to my message yesterday reporting a visual observation of a
possible flash near Jupiter seen by Dennis Kiser at 2:32 UT, David Meisel
has sent the following report:
Date: Mon, 18 Jul 1994 15:29:40 From: (Dave Meisel) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A S-VHS color video tape of Jupiter taken with the CEK Mees Obs. 0.6m telescope and started at 0230 UTC prior to SL9 object B supposed impact shows no red flash at any time from 2:30-02:35 UTC while Io was clearly seen at all times in good seeing. I suspect the flash was a terrestrial meteor.....-DDM
