decametric radio bursts

Radio bursts observed on 21.0 -21.4 MHz and noise stroms observed at ~= 15.7 MHz. We are using three Yaesu communications receivers fed from a rotatable Yargi antenna with ~= 8dB gain. The 21 MHz noise storms were detected with an amateu communications receiver fed by a wire dipole antenna.

We are located in Chatham, MA in an area with relatively little eelectrical noise. We are reasonably sure of no storm activity along the US East coast at the time of observation. The time we observed this activity was between 22:00 UT on 7/19 and 03:00 UT on 7/20. We speculate as to the possibility of powerful lightningg storm activity triggered in the upper Jovian atmosphere by the larger impacts.
