L and "missing" M fireballs/plumes from Baja (SPMO)

Today was busy in Baja, MX at SPMO. A previous message mentioned the L impact spot observed. The correct time was that it first appeared on the Eastern limb between Jul 19 22:15:34 and 22:21:17, consistent with other observers. Thus, the first appearance was about 13 minutes after the nominal impact time. It brightened to a spot brighter than Io in less than 15 minutes and was back down to its original brightness only 20 minutes later. It was truly remarkable.

In addition to all of the other spots observed throughout the day/night, we also observed the "missing" fragment M! It was first observed at Jul 20 06:13:13 and appeared as a dim spot just beyond the C spot. It continuted to brighten until 07:10:05 at which time we decided the telescope was needed for observations tomorrow (airmass >>13).

Most observations were made at 2.1 microns, but additional images were taken at 1.6 and 1.2 microns. The spots were NOT visible at 1.2 microns but were still prominent at 1.6 microns.
